OUR STORY

ABOUT US

We’re a Turkish-Italian couple married for 20 years and based in Naples, Italy, exploring the world through strategic long weekends, maximized vacation days, and carefully planned getaways rather than extended adventures.

My work in the airline industry provides access to frequent flights, while my husband’s engineering background ensures every detail is meticulously planned through his famous pre-travel Excel spreadsheets—which I’m equally known for questioning.

As the voice behind this blog, I document each of our journeys with one simple purpose: to preserve our happiness by remembering these experiences and sharing practical insights with fellow travelers who balance travelling with real-world responsibilities.

Our Travel Style

We’re not the “stay in one place and chill” type. We prefer covering more ground, tasting the essence of every place we visit. Whether it’s a quick city break or a carefully planned multi-country itinerary, we aim to make the most of every moment.

📌 Expect to find realistic itineraries, budget-conscious tips, and time-saving tricks—designed for travelerswho want to see more of the world, one trip at a time.

Travel's Transformative Power

We started chasing ancient temples and bustling markets but soon found ourselves equally captivated by winding rivers, majestic mountains, and stunning landscapes.

Though we never considered ourselves dedicated trekkers, we conquered 27 kilometers of stairs in China’s sacred Buddhist mountains. Despite not identifying as adventure enthusiasts, we soared across the longest zipline through the remote jungles of Laos.

We were never true backpackers, yet we thrived in the Amazon rainforest; barely versed in astronomy, yet we gazed at stars beneath the world’s most pristine skies.

With each journey, we’ve uncovered hidden passions and pushed beyond our perceived limitations.

The more we explore, the more we surprise ourselves—travel doesn’t just reveal the world; it reveals us.

The Call to Wander

Our first long-haul trip to India for a month in 2004 sparked an even deeper curiosity about the world and the fascinating differences between cultures. Yet the more we traveled, the more we discovered our shared humanity. Even among the most remote cultures, people fundamentally connect in the same ways—they smile, they offer help, they express curiosity, and they eagerly learn about visitors.

The more we appreciate local customs, the deeper our connections grow, revealing how interconnected we truly are. Making efforts to speak the local language, trying traditional foods without judgment, and embracing the adventure of getting lost have only strengthened our passion for exploring this beautiful world.
